uMdoni Local Municipality is an administrative area in the Ugu District of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Umdoni is an isiZulu name for the indegeous tree, Mdoni (Syzgium gerrardi).[3]

The urban areas of the municipality comprise the coastal towns of Scottburgh, Park Rynie, Pennington, Sezela, Bazely, Ifafa, Elysium and Mtwalume, and the inland towns of Umzinto/Umzinto North, including Shayamoya and Esperanza.[4]
